Cable Hip Abduction

Description

Preparation

  • Attach a leg cuff to a low cable machine
  • Stand side on to the machine with attached leg furthest away
  • Lean on the machine or hold support bar
  • Stand with weight on near foot
  • Allow weights to cross far leg in front of standing leg

Action

  • Abduct weighted leg out to side
  • Lift far leg as high as you can without leaning torso
  • Keep both feet facing forward

Return

  • Allow the weights to pull the attachment back to the starting position
