Cable Kneeling Ab Crunch

Description

Preparation

  • Attach a rope/crunch attachment to a high pulley
  • Kneel down facing the machine with buttocks resting on heals
  • Lean forward to approximately 30°. The hips will be at approximately 90°
  • Place the hands next to the temples
  • Allow weights to hyperextend the lower back
  • A stretch may be felt in the abdomen

Action

  • Firstly hunch the shoulders over forward, rounding the upper back
  • Contract the abdomen, pulling elbows towards hips
  • Do not flex the hips. If nothing is felt in the abdomen check your technique

Return

  • Relax the abdomen allowing weights to return
  • Relax the shoulders allowing back to hyperextend
  • A slight stretch may be felt in abdomen
