Cable Lying Triceps Extension

Description

Preparation

  • Attach a flat bar to a low pulley machine
  • Place a flat bench straight out and from machine
  • Lie face up (supine) on bench with head closest machine
  • Raise the knees and place feet on bench
  • Grasp the bar overhand approximately shoulder width apart
  • Raise and straighten the arms, so that arms are perpendicular to torso.

Action

  • Without moving the upper arms flex the elbows lowering the bar
  • As the bar nears forehead, flex the shoulders so bar clears head

Return

  • Raise the bar
  • As the bar clears head, reposition the elbows to 90°
  • Continue to extend elbows until arms are straight up
