Cable Single Arm Upright Row

Description

Preparation

  • Attach a single dumbell grip to a low pulley machine
  • Stand side on to machine, using nearest hand for support
  • Grasp the grip overhand with furthest hand
  • With arm straight allow weights to pull hand across to opposite thigh

Action

  • Leading with the elbow, raise the hand diagonally across torso to opposite shoulder
  • As you lift the grip keep it horizontal by allow wrist to flex (adduct)
  • Keep the elbow in line with torso throughout the lift.
  • Keep the hand close to the body

Return

  • Allow the weights to pull the grip back to the start position
