Smiths Machine Hack Squat

Description

Preparation

  • Position the bar just behind the calves
  • Grasp the bar with a overhand grip about shoulder width apart

Action

  • Keeping your back straight, lift the bar
  • Lift first with your knees then with your hips
  • Try to keep weight distributed evenly over feet
  • Lift until hips and knees are fully extended
  • At the very top slightly lift (elevate) and pull back (retract) shoulders

Return

  • Lower the bar back to floor
  • Lift until knees and hips are fully extended
  • Try to keep weight distribution across whole of foot even.
